I don't really post much here anymore...

...I guess I should probably change that.

But life's been relatively good to me.  Except for the emotional stuff.  I seem to be overreacting way too much to social stuff that happens at school and I don't know why.  Maybe I'm not getting enough sleep?  Maybe I'm eating too much sugar?  Any ideas?

I'm thinking of doing that "Song a Day" meme again.  That seems like that would be a fun thing to do.

SNOW!!!!

There's like 4 inches of snow on the ground.  Yay!

I don't get all of the hate against snow.  It's white, it's fluffy, it's cold, and it's moisture!  I understand that it makes the roads slick and it makes everything cold and desolate, but it is so beautiful, in my opinion.  I just want to dance in it.

9/11/11

Ten years ago, a group called Al Qaida decided to initiate an attack on our soil.  They destroyed three of our buildings in New York, destroyed a fifth of the Pentagon, a field in Pennsylvania, and over 3,000 lives.  My story that I posted from last year is on the blog, so you can read that if you want my story as to how it happened.

The main reason for this post is to talk about the injustice that we have done to the Islamic community.  While I was a kid when it happened, now that I'm older I see the varoius conflict between our patriotism and their religion.  I grew up in a household where the Islamic religion was just that: a religion.  I grew up believing that everyone believed in the same god, and He was kind and loving.  It's only been in the last few years that I have seen the different barriers that people have put up between the varying religions.  I have met many Muslims, and they are kind people.  They're normal people, trying to live in a world where they could be bombarded with racial and incompetent slurs discriminating against them.

Al Qaida claims to be in the interest of all Muslims, but that is not true.  Al Qaida is a small portion of this religion, this religion that has a right to be respected and treated fairly.  There is so much mystery surrounding their religion that we dare not ask precisely what they believe, we just go with what we know: they're mean, cruel, and hateful people.  This is not true for most of the Muslims!  We set this image up in our head because this is what we have seen.  And what we have seen is fearfully terrifying to us, and we must protect ourselves from the chance of running into that scenery again.

Had this incident not happened, what would we think of the Muslims that live near us?  Would we care about their religion?  Would we be slurring their religion in their faces?  Maybe, but we will never know, since we cannot turn back time and stop the carnage.  The dust.  The death.

This is for all the people who has suffered from the attacks: the servicemen, the civilians, the "enemies", and the countless others who are still suffering.

Writer's Block: Lassie, come home!

Have you ever had a pet that ran away? Did you eventually find her or him? If not, how long did it take you to recover?

A chicken we had escaped once.  We totally flipped, because she had a broken leg.  XD  We did find her, but she seemed totally peeved that we took her away from her 'happy place' AKA our neighbors yard.

Writer's Block: Everyday I write the book

If you were to write your autobiography, what would be the title?

Murder Most Fowled:  Why I Am A Notorious Criminal

So screwed this weekend.

This robot baby thing isn't that hard, but after being woken up three times in the night for it I wake up coughing and with a runny nose.  Not that I wasn't kinda sick already, but it got worse.  :(

Thank goodness the baby is in quiet time, because the only thing I can really do with the baby nearby and awake is watch Doctor Who, and there are only a lot of episodes that I like.

ROBOT BABIES.

So mine just turned on, and so far it's pretty well behaved (okay, it's only been a few minutes XD).  This is for a class, and I heard all of these horror stories about how the baby was horrible and such.  I'll be updating this post every hour as this 'experiment' ah crap.

Okay I'm feeding it now.  will be back in a moment.

so i'm feeding it again.  because this baby is hungry.

Photo thingy.

* Post ten of any pictures currently on your hard drive that you think are self-expressive.

* No captions. It must be like we're speaking with images and we have to interpret your visual language just like we have to interpret your words.

* They must ALREADY be on your hard drive - no googling or flickr! They have to have been saved to your folders sometime in the past. They must be something you've saved there because it resonated with you for some reason.

* You do NOT have to answer any questions about any of your pictures if you don't want to. You can make them as mysterious as you like. Or you can explain them away as much as you like.
Pics here...Collapse )

Writer's Block: Unplugged

For how much money would you be willing to spend a whole week away from the Internet, TV, and mobile phones? Would you suffer withdrawal pains?

I'd probably do it for a couple thousand dollars... and yes I would possibly suffer withdrawal.

I'm only doing this because I'm stumped on what one of my characters should say on my NNWM thingy.

Veteran's Day

Okay, that was a bit big XD.

So it's Veteran's Day here in the grand ol' US, but I still like the poem "In Flander's Fields" by John McCrae, and Veteran's Day was initiated for WWI, so there.

My dad is a veteran, so this kind of stuff really matters to me.
Nope.  Absolutely not.  No doubt about it, I did not do that.

...

I'M SO BORED.

Also, Live Journal is being messed up.  :shakes fist:

Zombie meme from f-list

Look to your right. Whatever object you see there is your designated weapon in the upcoming Zombie Apocalypse! Comment on this post to tell me what it is, then repost to spread the zombie virus.

I grab the box from my desk and hurl the White at the zombie right behind me.  There is a hoard of zombies by the fish tank, so I throw Macaroni And Cheese, Orange, Cornflower, Blue, and Blue Green.  There are about 10 zombies at the stairwell, so I throw Purple Mountains' Majesty, Spring Green, Yellow, Azul Turquesa (Spanish XD), Carnation Pink, Gold, Tan, Melon, Periwinkle, and Wild Strawberry.  Either way, the items repel the remaining zombies and force them out of the house*.

*meaning out of the basement, at least XD

Le Colour Meme

So I got this meme from lj user tricia_v , who told me to do blue.

Basically, I say ten of my favorite things that are the color that was assigned to me, and then, if you want to participate (put that as the comment subject line) comment and I'll give you a color that reminds me of you.

Blue...Collapse )

Funny video.

.. Or more like song.
Anyways, I ran across this previously, but I've been too lazy to post it.  XD

Writer's Block: And The Winner Is…

Ke$ha, Eminem, Lady Gaga, Usher, Beyonce, Justin Bieber … who do you most want to win an MTV Video Music Award this year?

Oh my gosh.  HECK NO.  Can we get these piece of crap musicians to go away?  I don't care.  Let's just go with Bruno Mars with The Other Side or Animal by Neon Trees (the one with the museum XD)
